Regional Studies is an active peer-reviewed academic journal covering research in theoretical development, empirical analysis, and policy debate in the field of regional studies and regional science. It was established in 1967 and is published monthly by Routledge. It is an official journal of the Regional Studies Association.
The journal publishes original research on such topics as industrial, retail and office location, labour markets, housing, migration, recreation, and transport with an emphasis on "the development of theories and concepts, empirical analysis and policy debate in the field of regional studies." The journal seeks to connect insights across intellectual perspectives in a systematic and grounded way in order to understand how and why regions and cities evolve.
Each issue features around seven to nine original research articles, one to three book reviews, and occasionally an "Urban and Regional Horizon" and/or "Policy Debates" section. The geographic coverage is international, and themed issues are published regularly.
The Internet Archive Collection contains microfilm published between 1981 and 1994.
