l'Europeo was a well known Italian magazine that launched on November 4th, 1945 and was released weekly. The magazine ceased publication between 1995 and 2001, in 2002 it returned as a quarterly, eventually becoming bi-monthly from 2003 until 2007, and finally being released monthly from 2008 until its final cancellation in 2013.

It was an independent, secular-oriented and liberal magazine that covered news, politics, arts, true crime stories, and the world of entertainment. It was at its most popular in the mid 1940s, the 1950s, and the 1960s. It was one of the few magazines during the Cold War willing to have an open dialogue with the Italian Communist Party. Through its coverage of news and current events l'Europeo was able to break a number of newsworthy stories before it started its eventual decline in the second half of the 1970s.
