Journal of Professional Counseling, Practice, Theory, & Research is an active peer-reviewed scholarly journal providing clinical, theoretical, and empirical guidance to professional counsellors, educators, researchers, and other mental health professionals. It was established in 1972 and is published semi-annually by Taylor & Francis Inc. It is the official journal of the Texas Counseling Association
The journal publishes technical and research articles and news of interest to counselling professionals. featuring manuscripts that focus on various aspects of counselling practice and education, such as practical and unique applications of counselling approaches in school and clinical settings, quantitative and qualitative research, critical integrations of published research, theoretical and social policy, as well as scholarly reviews of professional materials. Manuscripts are typically categorised into four types: research, theory, practice, and trends and issues.
