DESCRIPTION
Journal of Ethnicity in Substance Abuse is an active peer-reviewed scholarly journal published quarterly by Taylor & Francis. Launched in 1986 as Drugs & Society, it acquired its current name in 2001 with volume numbering restarting at 1, and publishes research on ethnicity and cultural variation in alcohol, tobacco, licit and illicit forms of substance use and abuse.
Each issue features original articles that investigate the origins, beliefs, attitudes, and values of substance abusers of various ethnic groups in order to identify emerging and culturally diverse trends. It also contains review appears, policy commentaries, and information concerning the implementation of culturally competent strategies in harm reduction, individual, group, and family treatment of substance abuse. Occasional special-focus issues are dedicated to a particular topic of interest.
