Evolutionary Ecology is an active bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal founded in 1987 and published by Springer Nature Switzerland AG which covers the study of ecology from an evolutionary perspective. The journal publishes original research, including research by students and early career researchers, reviews, ideas and discussion papers which focus on research at the interface of ecology and evolution. 

Evolutionary Ecology publishes papers addressing evolutionary aspects of population ecology, organismal interactions and coevolution, behaviour, life histories, communication, morphology, host-parasite interactions and disease ecology, as well as ecological aspects of genetic processes and other topics which relate to the ecology of organisms within the context of evolution. The objective of Evolutionary Ecology’s publications is to promote the conceptual, theoretical and empirical development of ecology and evolutionary biology; the scope extends to any organism or system.
