Seven years in the making. How are these bootlegs the worst? Where did they come from? Why inflict them upon the world? Tangent is an artist focusing on electronic, computer based, algorithmic, and process music, although there's still plenty of room for improvisation within this remit, particularly plunderphone improvision. Sam Stephens also releases music as Unknown Rockstar.

These recordings were made in 2015 - 16 in Washington DC, Forth Worth and Auckland. You can feel the spaces of a three-story concrete stairwell, an echo chamber on a busy street, a concrete bunker room, and 'Vortex', Richard Serra's 67 foot high weathering steel sculpture. You can hear the sounds of mixing bowls, water, tin cans, clapping, footsteps, dental impressions, dental floss, a partial denture, a hand-carved wooden knife, a metal water bottle, a screw driver, an umbrella, piano, chairs,...

Recorded live at the Festiva of Enjoyment at Enjoy Gallery in Wellington NZ on the 25th November 2002. Jeff plays baritone sax on the first track, and tenor sax on the second. A performance with the aggression of the title. The first track starts with a roaring wall of sax noise, working its way to a power drone tone (that has given me images of Jeff with a saxophone mouthpiece connected to a jet engine), and then to more subtle tonal landscapes. Halfway through the second track, Jeff pulls out...

Art should reflect the artist’s vision for the world. The world this piece intends to create is shrouded in spectral lights and abysmal darkness, it is a world caught between bestial cruelty and yearning sentimentality. Darkness and Light exist on the same continuum, and art should be willing to reflect the spectrum, between sheer horror and radiant beauty. This album should be seen as an effort to that end. This album is essentially a collection of semi-spontaneous improvisations made over...

After each set of four submissions arrived, they were blindly put together to create a track - as and when they arrived in Corporal Tofulung 's inbox. The levels were adjusted so that quiet tracks could be heard. Otherwise there was no post production. Each contributor provided one word which were added to 3 others to create the track title. He loves the grain and whorl, the texture he pulls from his music, and gives to us. Recorded live to air on the Deprogrammer show, hosted by Sam and Smiley, on MUNT FM on the 16th of June 2003. Robyn Kenealy appears on vocals for lamplight. A talented folk and country performer who has been performing his ever increasing song book of originals and favourite songs for some years. His powerful and flexible voice and keen sensibilities on the guitar make him always worth seeing. More recently his work with the Bent Folk is well worth checking out.

Recorded live at the Photospace in Wellington NZ in July 2003. With Rick playing alto sax and clarinet, Dick Whyte playing cello, and Sam Stephens playing double bass. The Rick Jensen Trio/Quartet was started in New Zealand 1999, now based in London U.K. The group is a live performance ensemble that has many members come and go through the years. All the music is completely improvised, making every performance and recording completely unique. See Rick's bandcamp for more recent activity.
