Apple's Macintosh line is 35 years old today, and PCMag has been there the entire time. We did our first feature on the Mac in 1984, following up with a massive, 23-page head-to-head between the Mac and PC in 1985. (Read it, it's amazing.)

For the past 20 years or so, we've reviewed every Mac that has come our way. While we started out reviewing IBM PC-compatible machines, "PC" for us pretty quickly became personal computing in general—and the Mac, with its icon-based interface, made computing a lot more personal.
