you also have to think of cost-performance ratio... you even could put 750 GB drives into the boxes. 500 GB drives today cost about 33 percent more per gigabyte than drives with a capacity of 250 GB. What I would suggest is putting only drives into the boxes that have the best cost-performance ratio at the time the boxes are ordered. Today these are the 300 GB / 320 GB drives. Additionally, newer boxes should be fitted with more modern interfaces (like S-ATA or SATA II, but the second shouldn't be seen as an option for now, because it still is too expensive) (Sorry for my somewhat wooden English. I am not a native speaker)
