With Ludwig Chateau. The film is the question to an old sculptor from Düsseldorf whether he was willing to participate in an Old Age Porn. On a search for a cuple for a love story with sex beyond the 70 Herbert Götzinger sent me to his colleagues sculptor Ludwig Chateau. During my surprise visit with the running camera, asking if he would be willing to do his part, he attacked me: "Is not that enough what they're doing at this moment?" (LUTZ MOMMARTZ)

MR. MOMMARTZ, PLEAS DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO CINEMA? I rarely go to the cinema. I do not like Western, nor problem movies or comedies. Sometimes, out of curiosity I enter a movie theater, but then very carefully. Sometimes I'm even excited, but then I do not have an explanation. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE "JUNGE DEUTSCHE FILM"? They are old-young, they did not understand anything. HOW DID YOU STARTED? I never wanted to become a filmmaker. In 1963 I was six weeks Uganda. As an...

It was the year in which the Action Committee of Democratic Progress should unite the varios political left groups and be elected in the German parliament. The question of social property was the focus. Roland Hehn and Rainer Boldt from the Film and Television Academy Berlin, "stole"for us the film material and provided the recording devices. Norbert Stratmann was actor and provocateur for our call to establish social peace and, if necessary take illegal action, without getting...

Space / Film installation: At a distance of about 10 m two large screens are mounted, for synchronous Vis a Vis movies like Counterpart and Left / Right The most beautiful moment of the two-screen cinema, is when it is not in operation. And now the always restless Lutz Mommartz has a new project: the windmill! Eight at specific angles to one another established projection screens are immersed by the use of eight film or slide projectors in a permanent image vortex, and above all a floating fan...

Test filming with Eddie Constantine in Wiesbaden for the movie "Tango through Germany". For years I was looking for an actor who strives steadfastly afar. Someone who is not going for specific goal, but celebrates in a ritual way that it is about something that concerns everyone. Someone who makes a mark, provoking as a performance artist and takes the liberty to swim against the current. In April 1979, I found myself sitting next to Eddie Constantine. I told him about the project. He...

In "Markeneier" drehen sich viele Eier ununterbrochen, wie von Geisterhand gefuehrt. Der Effekt wird auf simple Art erzielt: Die Eier wurden auf einer schwarzen Platte gedreht und geschuettelt. Into "Markeneier" (trademark eggs) many eggs turn continuously, as led from a spirits hand. The effect is made in a simple way: The eggs were turned and shaken on a black plate. With Wolfgang Domke A man, "tied" to a table, gets drunk, eats beetroot and cream pie to be able to chuck and then during the some hours lasting process of sobering / disillusion he explains his vision of the future. DIE WELT, 12.3.69 Difficulties in articulation: In a gradual disillusionment from a drunken stupor, in dull bulls, chunking up (! In color, which was nice) and troglodytic muck the first communication sounds chuckle slowly from the speakers. The action takes place with...

With Brigitte S. and Wolfgang D. At the climax of her career, the Schiller decided to do something different. LUTZ MOMMARTZ In 1968 I made with Wolf Domke -an art and architecture student from Düsseldorf- a film about his vision of the future. It became a testimony to the impotence of the individual, to understand and redesign the world. Six years later I met his girlfriend Brigitte Schiller. As the owner of an agency in a professional and personal changing situation she became for me a medium...
